Passport Information

It is law that all equine owners must have obtained an equine passport, the government may fine you up to £5,000 without one.

Please note you do not need to be a V.H.S. Member to obtain a passport.

Passport Application £20.00

If you are a non-Member and require Membership to the Society this is:

Senior £40.00 Junior £30.00

If you require Membership and a Passport the cost is:

Senior £60.00 Junior £50.00

Membership and Passports will be sent out separately. If you already have a passport and would like to register your veteran with the
Society please send your complete passport to VHS H/O and we will over stamp this and give you a VHS registration number, the cost for this is: £20.00 If you sell your horse or he/she changes owners you must complete a change
of ownership document (included in your passport) the cost for this is: £17.50 If you loose or damage you passport the cost of a replacement passport: £20.00 As a non-profit making organisation we run entirely on Donations and this reflects in the price of a Passport. By donating a small amount such as £2.50 you are helping us to help more horses around the U.K. £ 2.50

Each application must include 2 recent side view photographs without tack. Without this your Application will not be processed. Please ensure your horses name is on the back of the photograph with an approximate year of age

If you require your passport to be sent recorded delivery back to you – include a further £3.00 on your cheque or postal order and please indicate that you require the passport recorded delivery. The society cannot be held responsible for any details or passports lost or damage in the postal system.


Completing your passport.


The Society is able to accept any age horse for a Passport. However, the horse or pony must be 15 years of age to qualify for VHS Registration, this is automatic when you apply for your VHS passport. NO other money is Required.

The silhouette (diagram) must be completed by a vet or VHS competent Authority. However, a vaccination Certificate is acceptable as your silhouette. It must be the original document not a photocopy, this will be sent back to you immediately.
The VHS recommends that all known breed owners should in the first instance contact their breed society.
If you require an example of a completed passport, please send a sae and this will be sent out by return.

Please do not worry about your passport, we are here to help and assist as much as we possibly can and our Passport Office is open from 10 –3pm daily.

 

If you do not want your horse to go for human consumption please ensure that you sign the correct declaration.

Please ensure that your vet completes the medical section should drugs be administrated.
