Fifi sadly passed away at Christmas 2007, through natural causes.

Poor little Fifi has spent most of the summer in her winter rug, which she really didn’t like being a wild mountain pony 5 years ago. So with the Autumn weather being so mild she enjoys much needed gallops around her paddock in the evening, something she hasn’t done for 2 years. She is very well in herself and now has moved up to winter feed.
With best friend Misty she is still out at night with no rug, but as soon as the weather changes with the clocks, she’ll soon be asking to come back in at night.

Feed routine:
1 scoop of safe and sound once a day.

When in at night she does have a hay replacer.

Spring 2007

Weight 223kgFifi has had a very good winter and was turned out 24/7 in April. She did loose a little weight during this time so her feed has included a little chaff and extra grazing, to avoid any further weight loss.

She has started to gallop around her paddock playing each evening which is a sure sign that spring is on the way. Sylvia has become close to Fifi after Vicky’s loss and it seems that Fifi is beginning to join the old ladies group.

Her diet includes
1 scoop of Safe and Sound
15ml of garlic and 1 scoop of mollased chaff.
The chaff will be reduced and taken away completely in May.

Fifi has been well over the spring and went into summer the correct weight, although we do have to watch her after rain and grass growth. We hope to create our own little lottery pony with Fifi, as she is very pretty and has a stunning mane and tail.
Fifi’s best friend is Misty, but she also loves Nogin, she has mellowed a little in the last year and is far quieter than she used to be. Her teeth are not very good, being a wild pony, she never had human contact so nature dealt with her dental care!

Routine

She has restricted grazing in the day and is turned out with the old ladies in the hay field during the evening.
