VHS HARRY
Spring
2008
Harry’s arthritis has worsened through the winter getting to a point at
one stage where we were only able to pick up three of his legs to pick out his
feet. But with the weather warming up now he seems less apprehensive about picking
up his near hind. Harry has moved into the barn now with Melody to allow him
to move freely and exercise at will, he is on a new supplement called flex from
Grande meadows to help with his arthritis. Due to moving stables, he is no longer
boxed next to Tommy but still has plenty of opportunity to play with him in
the field during the day. He has also been able to spend more time near Jerry,
who he came to the centre with.
Harry has become quite bolshy with the added space, particularly around food
so he is now tied up for his tea. Even though he doesn’t appreciate this
much, his attitude has improved and Harry once again is more of a gentleman.
For a big boy Harry doesn’t need much in the way of feed:
1 Fibergy
1⁄2 Pasture nuts
Supplements
Garlic
Grande Meadows Flex
Spring 2007
Harry has really aged this winter, and is now showing signs of arthritis in
his navicular bone. For this reason he is now brought in at night until the
very warm evenings are here. He is now retired due to his arthritis, but still
enjoys going for walks down to the beach. He is very good friends with Mel,
Simon and Milly but is still adored by Tommy
He has been on Cortaflex HA to help with his arthritis
and is fed a high fibre feed of Fibregy and Pasture Nuts to help keep his weight
manageable,
as like many cobs he is a very good doer.
Harry and Tommy can be adopted and given as a gift
to a friend.
Thank you for visiting Harry.
