VHS LILLY & PIPPA

Spring 2008

Lilly and Pippa are still as close as ever, they have designated themselves their own little paddock at the bottom of the hayfield where they sneak under the fence for that extra little bit of grass! Lilly vision has become worse one eye has now glazed over leaving her with little vision, if any, on that side. She seems to get round this by tilting her head at a strange angle and in general is coping well with her lack of sight. Lilly has recently had a bout of laminitis that she seems to be recovering well from having had her feed reduced to Fibergy with garlic and surefoot.
Pippa is again keeping us on our toes with her feed, which at the moment seems to change daily with her mood. At around 120kg it is difficult to keep the weight on this little mare without getting any hard feed in her belly. So far this year, although she is starting to get her summer coat she hasn’t rubbed herself like she did this time last year. Pippa is still given her medicine every morning containing her garlic and B Sure. She is given her Echinacea and milk thistle in her feed which currently seems to be fibergy, maize, build up and country cubes.

Lilly's weight - 297 kg
Pippa's weight - 131 kg
Feed

Pippa changes her mind so much with what feed she likes, but at the moment she loves leisure mix, she still is made to have her medicine, to help with
her ragwort damage which consists of B Sure, Echinacea and garlic.

Lilly, has Safe and Sound, which she loves and 15 ml of garlic each morning.Lilly and Pippa, have had a very good winter. Little Pippa, acted very
strangely at the end of March, but this was a year ago that her little mum passed away, so she could be remembering this. She broke out in skin
allergy for no apparent reason, so this could have been her nerves?

She still absolutely adores Lilly, who has looked after her beautifully. Now they are both turned out at night and come in for a sleep during the
mornings. They are now only fed once a day, as they graze day and night. these two lovely little rescue ponies can be adopted.
