VHS TOMMY

Spring 2008
Although Tommy is one of the smallest horses at the centre, he definitely thinks
he’s one of the biggest. Convinced he’s not actually a Shetland
pony he loves being with the big boys; Harry, Hercules and Alibi. He loves playing
and if he’s not harassing the twins in restriction then he’s chasing
Hercules and Alibi around the hayfield. Harry is his rock and when he’s
finished annoying all the horses around him, he will go and hide behind him.
Tommy became quite withdrawn and easily startled in winter and soon went off
his food and hay. Tom was as healthy as ever and his behaviour could not be
easily explained. It was decided that Tommy would move into one of the front
boxes, he is next door to Alibi and since his move he has returned to his old
self. He has a sleeper next to the stable door that he can stand on to look
outside and his banking by the window gives him easier access to torment Alibi
during the night!
Tommy has a playball containing pasture nuts on a night to keep himself entertained.
He is still more round than he is tall so he needs little in the way of food.
After going through a phase of picking the pasture nuts out of the fibergy he
is now just given half a scoop of pasture nuts with 30ml of garlic to help keep
the flies away.
Spring 2007
Weight 302 kg
Tommy is just as naughty as ever, and dispite all our attempts he still remains
the same size! He still has the personality of a giant and is a
firm favourite with all the children, which he adores. He constantly wants to
play and now The Twins are amongst his favourites,
pictured here enjoying a rough and tumble in restriction paddock. He is out
at night with the twins and fed only for his supplements to keep
his sweetich under control.
Tommy and Harry
are two who would love to be adopted and we can arrange fortheir adoption to
be sent on your behalf to a family member or friends.
Thank you for taking the time to read Tommy's story
